Pathways To Creativity
By Helene Jukoff

Printed 8.5″ x 11″ full color 96 page book

Every artist faces the challenge of how to use subject matter (a person, a vase, a bowl of fruit, a scene) as a starting point to achieve an original work. Artists begin by copying what they see, whether it is directly from nature, from photographs or from other paintings. The main objective of the lessons in Pathways To Creativity is to help students move beyond copying to overcome what I call copy paralysis.

Helene Jukoff has been an art teacher for the Los Angeles Unified Adult Schools for three decades. She has won numerous awards for her paintings and her work is in collections in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Europe and Australia. She is especially proud of honors earned by many of her students.

Her previous books include “Oil Painting Handbook” and “What You need to Know” (to Start Watercolors).
